Terry Sutton
Partner, CEO

Terry has been a member of the Beacon Team since 2007. Terry began his industry career at Motorola as a technician and quickly became a Supervisor. Having occupied several leadership roles, Terry finished his career at Motorola developing and implementing Total Productive Maintenance in Motorola manufacturing. While employed with Motorola, Terry attended the Japanese Institute of Plant Maintenance.

Terry left Motorola for Samsung Austin Semiconductor to gain experience working for an internationally owned company and be on the ground floor of Samsung’s first manufacturing facility built outside of Korea. He spent 2 years at Samsung as the TPM department supervisor leading his team on tasks such as PM analysis, breakdown analysis, elimination of operational failures – Poke Yoke, and capacity planning.

In 1999 Terry left Samsung for Dell as an Operations Manager in laptop manufacturing. During his career at Dell he served in several leadership roles to include Operations Manager, Production Control and Materials Manager and Sustaining Engineering Manager.

Terry has continued to balance his industry experience with continued education and holds an Associate Degree in Electronics Technology, Bachelor Degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix, and an MBA from the University of Tennessee. He is certified as a Master Team Facilitator and TPM Instructor.

Terry is a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Nashville Kiwanis. He is married with 3 children and active in the Middle Tennessee Community

Bryan Merville
Partner, President

Bryan joined the Beacon team at the beginning 2009. Prior to arriving at Beacon, Bryan was Director of Business Development for Mobular Technologies based out of Huntsville, AL for two years. Bryan has previously held the position of National Sales Manager for Valutec Card Solutions based in Franklin, TN for 2 years, and served as Vice President of Sales at Investment Scorecard, INC. based in Nashville for 4 years.

Bryan has both graduate and post-graduate degrees from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Bryan and his family live in Nashville and attend Forest Hills Baptist Church.

Dwight Vahle
Director of Operations

Dwight recently joined Beacon Technologies in November of 2010. He comes to Beacon from Dell Computers where he managed Dell’s largest manufacturing facilities in Austin, Texas and Nashville, Tennessee. He brings to Beacon a wide array of experience in process management, lean concepts designs and logistical knowledge. His most proven skill is team building which translates into high quality performance to meet our customers’ expectations.

Prior to Dwight’s time with Dell, he spent 16 years with United Parcel Service. There, he learned the values of cost management as related to customer service. These same principles will be applied when providing quality installations to Beacons’ clients.

Dwight has a B.S. in Biology from Oklahoma State University.

Dwight has been married for 36+ years to the same woman and spends his free time with his wife and their five dogs.

John Cooper
Director Project Management and Design

John originally joined the Beacon Technologies Team in November of 2006. In 2008-2009, John worked as a Medical Technology Planner and Project Manager for Gene Burton Associates. John returned to the Beacon team in the fall of 2009. Prior to arriving at Beacon in 2006, John worked for FedEx Office over a 10 year period. During this time, he worked as an Account Manager, Senior Account Manager and Project Manager.

John’s primary role is to provide project management, design and planning services to facility owners and directors, architects and contractors. His specific areas of expertise include Structured Cabling, Wireless Integration, Nurse Call, Closed Circuit Television, Access Control and Audio Visual products and services.John holds the BICSI RCDD credential as well as other certificates for Data Center, Outside Plant and CCTV Design.

A native of Huntsville, AL, John is an accomplished musician and likes fishing, camping and riding his motorcycle. John lives in Spring Hill, TN with his wife and two children.

Tony Dean
Director of Engineering, RCDD, OSP Specialist

Tony has been a member of the Beacon Team since 2004. Tony oversees the engineering and estimation of proposals during the project bidding process. Tony holds many manufacturer specific design & engineering certifications as well as BICSI RCDD credentials. He has held field supervisor roles as a defense contractor after serving in the United States Navy.

Autumn Howerton
Senior Project Manager

Autumn has been a member of the Beacon Team since 2003. Autumn is a Senior Project Manager and oversees all payroll and human resource functions to include recruiting, training and workplace safety. Autumn is a graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor of Computer Engineering. She returned to Aquinas College in Nashville, TN and received a Human Resource Management Certificate. She is a member of the National Society for Human Resource Management.

David Verble
Division Manager: Cabling

David has been a member of the Beacon team since 2000. David is responsible for overseeing on site production and quality of all of Beacon’s divisions. David is a certified BICSI Technician and Systimax Design & Engineer as well as holding many other industry certifications. He is also responsible for the communication and implementation of the OSHA Program at Beacon.

Shane Sexton
Division Manager: Security

Shane currently leads Beacon’s team of Certified Security Specialists. He has been in the security industry for over thirteen years and has been a part of the Beacon team since 2005.

Prior to employment at Beacon, Shane served as an account manager with ADS Security and also owned his own security contracting company. He has multiple industry and systems certifications along with extensive experience with system design and project execution. Shane prides himself in providing the right solution for any need a client may have.

A Huntsville, AL native, Shane has completed the full 141-ground school for the FAA Private Pilot Course and logged multiple hours of flying time. He is also an accomplished musician and enjoys hiking and camping.

BJ Bales
Division Manager: Telephony

BJ has been a member of the Beacon Team since 2002. BJ oversees the installation of Key, PBX, MBX, and IP Telephone systems. He is certified to design and install 3com, Mitel, Vodavi, and Cortelco. He also leads Beacon’s skilled group of telephony experts in servicing, installing, and training.

Anthony Sallee
AV Integration Manager

Anthony Sallee joined Beacon Technologies in August of 2010. As AV Integration Manager, Anthony's role is to shape the direction of Beacon Technologies AV Division, its competitive nature, and the ability to provide cutting edge AV and presentation technology. In doing this, Anthony spends a vast majority of his time keeping in close contact with clients. He places critical emphasis on the strength of our client relations.

Anthony began his career in the audio visual and video industry with CMS – Consolidated Media Systems, a national AV Integrator, in 1994. The organization was subsequently acquired by the MCSi, a billion dollar a year integrator, in 1998. With MCSi, Anthony averaged $500k in monthly sales, winning numerous sales awards. In 2005, Anthony left MCSi and joined AVI – Audio Visual Innovations, now AVI-SPL, one of the largest AV integrators in the nation, as a Sales Engineer. He has built a successful career in the sale of audio video products and services to corporate, education, health care, military and government markets nationwide.
